Let’s meet in the Widget Web Expo, London!
- Published 10/8/2008
The October 6th and 7th , you can meet the Widgadget team in Covent Garden in London. We talk about the social medias, focusing on the banners and widgets as online marketing tool. The Widget Web Expo is the European event for social marketing through widgets. The big agencies, the widgets maker, the developers and the media groups talk about how to use widgets on the Web, desktop, mobile devices and other platforms. This event is a good opportunity to discuss the widgets commercial strategies and technical features. During the conferences, the industry leaders meet to talk about the widgets perspective as an online marketing tool. Our pitch is the 6th at 10am in a session called “Widgets vs banners, a social way of promotion”.
Basically, it is about promotion in social networks. We ask if widgets are so different from banners, knowing that, nowadays, we see Flash banners that let viewers interact with their content when they expand additional panels of information, games, videos. Then, we go on with the main differences and why does it matter in a social promotion context. After a quick review of online promotion and social networks, we ask if banners are still the appropriate tool to promote a brand and how widgets can help a blogger/brand/agency to promote contents socially.
